Elizabeth Park in Budapest

Elizabethan Park surrounds the Royal Palace. The total area is 29 hectares. Named after the beloved Hungarian people Empress Elizabeth (Sissi). In the park you can visit a museum, a variety of exhibitions and the first European theater.

Work on the creation of the park began in 1749.

In 1898, Sissi was killed by an Italian terrorist, and saddened residents of the city created a memorial in her honor, which can still be seen in the park. Calvary with sculptural images of the stands of the Way of the Cross is also noteworthy.
