Fountain of the Power
Description:
The fountain "Power" rises in the ancient city of Szekesfeher, on Liberty Square. This stone city symbol represents a large ball held by three lions. The ball is the personification of the state, and the crown on the ball is a symbol of the power of monarchs. Lions also hold the royal coat of arms. On the pedestal you can see three memorable dates: the date of the coronation of King Stephen (1001), 1688 - the liberation from the Turkish capture and 1938 - 900 years since the death of King Stephen.
Around the globe is a commemorative inscription: LIBERTATES CIVITATI ALBENSI A. S. REGE STEPHANO CONCESSAE, signifying the position of the free city.
How to get there: Bus Budapest – Szekesfehervar departs from the bus station Neplighet every 30-40 minutes.
