Phu Yen Province (Phu Yen Province)
Description:
I invite you to visit the province of Fuyen (Phu Yen) in Central Vietnam - a unique place that harmoniously combines mountain ranges, fertile plains, fishing villages, peasant farms and azure sea with picturesque lagoons and "wild" beaches. And, fortunately (due to its remoteness from popular resort centers), a place where you still do not meet huge crowds of tourists. Indeed, the real “Pearl of Vietnam”, as many here call this province.
It is here that there is a unique place - the basalt reef of Gen Da Dia (Ghenh Da Dia). This natural phenomenon was formed millions of years ago during the eruption of a volcano and the release of hot volcanic magma, which, when encountered with sea water, froze in the form of several thousand peculiar “sculptures” of unusual round, as well as five-, six- and seven-sided forms. The Ghenh Da Dia Reef, which stretches about 50 meters wide and 200 meters long along the coastline, has more than 35,000 basalt columns and pillars of the most bizarre shapes and sizes, and today is one of only four such unique places that can be found on our planet - Giant's Causeway in Ireland, Fingal's Cave in Scotland, Los Organos in Spain and Ghenh Da Dia here in Vietnam. This is a natural wonder that you can see with your own eyes!
During our trip to the province of Fuyen, in addition to this place, we can make several stops (for example, in lagoons and on peasant farms), as well as visit:
- the picturesque Dai Lainh Cape, where you can climb the operating 26-meter lighthouse, which was built in the late 19th century by French colonizers, and enjoy breathtaking views of mountain ranges and emerald sea lagoons;
- completely deserted "wild" Bai Mon beach, which is located in a lagoon at the foot of Dai Lan Cape, where you can swim if you wish;
One of the oldest Catholic churches in Vietnam is Mang Lang, which was built by the French in 1892 and has not only survived, but also continues to function, having its own vicar and permanent flock. During its more than a century of history, this old church has never been restored.
- and the capital of the province of Fuyen - the city of Tuy Hoa, where we can have lunch before returning to Nha Trang.
