Quiet places of Kyoto
Description:
I recommend this shortened tour to those travelers who do not like crowded places, but at the same time want to enjoy the beauty of nature and ancient architecture of the old capital of Japan, as well as those who do not want to get tired of a full 7-8 hour excursion. I suggest visiting the Imperial Villa Shugakuin in northeastern Japan and the Daitokudji Temple Complex in the north, which houses 24 Buddhist temples.
Shugakuin is a vast imperial villa at the foot of Mount Higashiyama in northeastern Kyoto. It was built in 1659 by order of Emperor Gomizuno, who retired. The emperor came to the throne when he was only 15 years old, and 18 years later resigned. After the transfer of the throne to the successor, the emperor settled in this villa, where he spent the rest of his life. I highly recommend this place for nature lovers and aesthetic lovers! A special atmosphere reigns here in autumn!
Please note that access to the Imperial Villa belonging to the Office of the Imperial Court of Japan is possible only upon prior application. Therefore, those who wish to be determined in advance. Just a couple of weeks.
Daitokuji is a huge temple complex (23 hectares) in the northern part of the old capital, in which, in addition to Buddhist temples, there are also many beautiful gardens, some of which are simply textbook masterpieces. It is the main temple of the Rinzai sect of the Daitokudji school in Japanese Zen Buddhism.
If you wish, you can also add to the above objects those mentioned in my other excursions. In this way, we can create a complete program for the whole day.
