Lake Sevan and Lush Green Dilijan

This tour will not leave indifferent not only nature lovers, but also history and culture. Our first trip will be to Lake Sevan. The endless blueness of the lake and the cries of gulls will give you a pleasant feeling of peace. Learn how the lake was formed over thousands of years, what flora and fauna prevails here. We climb the Sevan Peninsula, where the monastery was founded in the 9th century and operated under the patronage of Princess Mariam Bagratuni. I will tell you about her bright personality as a companion of the Christian faith in Armenia. We will learn a lot from the history of the monastery. It offers a beautiful view of the blue lake surrounded by Armenian mountains. Let's walk by the lake.

We will continue our journey and head to the Tsovagyuh village of fishermen, where we will stop in a large shopping center. Here you can try different delicacies of local and oriental cuisine, as well as fish dishes, as the village is famous for its fishermen. Prices and variety of offered tasties will pleasantly surprise you. After refreshing and resting, we will continue our trip to the city of Dilijan.

Dilijan is a colorful city, thanks to the surrounding dense forests, mild climate and special architecture of folk houses. On one such colorful street, two-storey houses with openwork, wooden balconies have been preserved. Some of them are two hundred years old. There are also various workshops and souvenir shops on this street. We will have a short tour here, I will tell you about the city and craft traditions in Armenia.

Another twenty minutes drive deep into the lush green forests, to the monastery of Akhartsyn. The monastery is known for the fact that in the Middle Ages it was a center of sacred music, Sharakan-Armenian spiritual chants were created here, which are performed to this day. And we'll have a chance to listen to them. Here we can try varieties of Armenian traditional pastries - gata with tea from mountain herbs, which will make our holiday full.

We will end our tour with a visit to the mountain lake Parz.
