Description:

Visit to St. Paul's. Hripsime is one of the most beautiful examples of Armenian architecture of the VII century. Surb Hripsime Temple was built in 618. From one of them you can enter the crypt located under the altar, where according to legend Hripsime was buried. The decoration of the building is very modest. In 1790, a two-tier bell tower with eight column bell tower was added to it. In the porch of the church are kept, inlaid with mother-of-pearl, the throne gates of 1741.

Echmiadzin - the former name of which Vagharshapat - was founded in the first half of the II century on the site of the ancient settlement of Vardgesavan. A rare feature of the cathedral is that in addition to the main altar in its eastern part, there are three more altars. Two of them, respectively, are in the southern and northern parts, and the third is not so much an altar as a holy place. According to legend, this is where Christ descended in his appearance. Visit to the museum "Treasury of Echmiadzin". The Museum “Treasury of Echmiadzin” is located in the south-eastern part of the Cathedral. It was opened in 1955. The museum presents unique holy relics. One of the most famous treasures is St. Geghard (spear), who pierced the side of Christ, the relics of Noah’s Ark, and many other valuable works of art. Visit the ruins of the temple of Zvartnots (Viding forces - VII century), destroyed by an earthquake in 939. The ruins of Zvartnots that have survived to this day testify to the grandeur of the building. It towered on the platform, around which there was a stepped pedestal, partially preserved.
