Kuala Lumpur - Asian oasis of skyscrapers, technology, city of the future
Kuala LumpurMalaysia) is an Asian oasis of high-rises, technologies, a little city of the future with a monorail, a huge number of skyscrapers, crossings between them, multi-level roads.
Population
Kuala Lumpur is a city officially home to about 1.8 million people, and it is as developed as if it has 10 times as many people.
We have noticed that there are very few pedestrians on the streets. There are almost no bikes on the roads, mostly cars.
Architecture
Everything is built, mostly skyscrapers. And in order to photograph something, you have to constantly pick your head up — buildings that are so tall.
Interestingly, many skyscrapers are connected by crossings, often there are crossings through highways, which also connect with shopping and business centers.
Of course, we could not pass by the famous Petronas Towers - two giant twin skyscrapers that are the hallmark of the city. Incredibly large-scale structure, below a small park for walking.
Economy
Malaysia is the third largest economy in Southeast Asia. Basically, they sell fruits for export, of course, oil, rubber. Malaysia is also a large assembly shop for Japan.
Contrasts
But like all countries in Southeast Asia, Kuala Lumpur is not without contrasts. Next to the skyscrapers can be combed uncles in business suits and immediately across the road go a very thin woman with bruises and tangled hair.
There can be a beautiful high-rise hotel in the city center, and under it there can be foul-smelling drains. And in Kuala Lumpur smells much more than on Phuket generally Thailand.
Well, it is impossible not to note how harmoniously glass concrete buildings are combined with high palm trees and a huge amount of greenery. Many buildings in which whole gardens are laid out - on roofs, terraces and balconies. Very beautiful.
Rosettes
Another important detail of a trip to Kuala Lumpur is to take with you or be ready to buy adapters. Because most places use local outlets and our European ones are not suitable for them.
Metro and monorail
To move around the city, it is best to use a monorail or metro. Metro and monorail are very convenient to use with Google maps. On the monorail token can be bought, coming to the station, at the entrance there are machines in which you can choose a route and pay in cash. With the token you can go to the landing station, then at the end of the way it must be handed over at the station to which you decided to go. And a monorail is a great way to see the city inexpensively, as the route covers most of the central attractions.
Prices
In general, I definitely recommend the city to visit, and the prices are also very pleasant. For example, we rented a huge hotel with a large room, a swimming pool in a 4-star hotel for just 5000 rubles for two days.
