Oh, Sakhalin!
Oh, Sakhalin!
“O” is an admiration or just a geographical designation you will understand for yourself only after visiting these places.
You know, there are reckless things, and there are travels. I don't have an answer to the question, "Why?" SakhalinI can’t explain why I’m drawn to these places. And I probably never will. Because it's like love, it's not for something.
After the trip, altaiBaikal and kamchatkaSakhalin has become a must on the travel list. In my head was a picture of a piece of land forgotten by God and our government.
Hell no, guys! Today, Sakhalin is a place of movement, development, prosperity.
For a moment, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk is in the TOP - 3 cities of Russia for comfortable entrepreneurial activities of small and medium-sized businesses, now think about it!
In general, a significant rise began about 10 years ago and does not end to this day. It is not the first year that the festival “Ostrava” takes place there, the essence of which is to acquaint and convey to society about all the potentials and opportunities of these places.
If you still risk flying more than half of the country, and even with transfers, be sure to capture a couple of days in the Kuril Islands.
Firstly, despite their small territory, you will see no less beautiful places there than on Sakhalin, and, secondly, it is there that you can visit the ocean.
Here is a small Sakhalin TOP of places to visit:
(1) Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk (its large and beautiful streets, Gagarin Park, mountain air ski complex)
(2) Cape Bird + Giant
(3) Tori Gate, Klokovsky Falls, Quiet Bay
(4) Korsakov (neighborhood, observation room, lighthouses)
(5) Okhotsk (sea + lighthouse)
(6) Aniva lighthouse
Kuril Islands:
(1) Weeping Rocks + Maiden Spits
(2) Yankito lava plateau
(3) white rocks
4) Baranovsky volcano
(5) hot tubs
(6) sea + ocean
Of course, this is just a small list of what you can see on the islands in 12 days.
Also, catch a small tour of cakes, slippers and Sakhalin buns.
My trip was divided into 2 parts: rest on Sakhalin, which I organized myself and rest on the Kuril Islands, for which Irina (a local resident) was responsible.
The cakes. If you are not a resident of our vast and vast capital, then you will have to fly with transfers. The flight "Perm-Moscow-South-Sakhalinsk" will take about 11 hours and 20 thousand one way.
The cost of tickets is not tied to the dates of the trip, of course, unless you decide to fly right here and now (I will explain, my friends bought tickets in February and April, saving almost 10 thousand, for some reason March became more expensive for the flight).
But since the tour to the Kuril Islands was bought, it was impossible to delay with tickets. But remember, in the season* tickets “fly like hot cakes”, especially to the Kuril Islands * season is usually considered August-October.
Slippers. As for housing, everything will depend on your preferences, options at least plentiful.
You can find an option to just spend the night, or you can “rest with music”, prices start from 900 rubles.
But as I like to say, “you get up early, so slippers,” this is about the third part of my trip, which I did not have time to book a hostel in time. I had to live in a more expensive and not very pleasant place.
Speaking of hostels. If you, like me, prefer an economical option, it is better to book Nora’s hostel as early as possible. They say oatmeal is not bad.
After arriving from Iturup (flight hour and you are on the Kuril ridge), I got the hostel @hostel ys 65. It was the peak of the season, so the seats were tight. If there is an opportunity not to stay, do not stay.
Perhaps the only thing I liked about it was its location: As for housing on the island of Iturup, housing is much more modest in quantity, but not in cost.
What do we have on food, to be more precise? What's the point, and I didn't have a little food on vacation. It was delicious, satisfying, and most importantly very beautiful.
Even my breakfast started from 1300. About 3 days before the end of the trip, I found inexpensive cafes and canteens, where I ate for 500 rubles.
And if you are a lover of seafood, then remember as the singer Maksim “Probably this is my paradise...” Kuril buffets differ little from Sakhalin, except that the number of establishments and the minimum cost of 1000 rubles.
The most expensive, but at the same time impressive buns on Sakhalin were its sights.
Let's go through our alphabet.
Hitchhiking on the island is poorly developed. Returning from the "Remainer of the Frog" * back to the city, I was taken by a tourist from Moscow * (by the way, a similar tour sells for 3,500, I drove for 200 rubles)
D - expensive trips, the average cost of the tour starts from 5000 rubles
It's not safe to drive alone. Bears don't sleep.
3 - Replace trips to nearby attractions by bus
And - Irina (local resident) ... will help organize a trip to the Kuril Islands, and maybe even leisure in the south.
M - car rental is not available for all trips
Going to Korsakov (the port city of Sakhalin Island with two lighthouses), choose a train that runs along the coastline, you will not regret it.
When planning a trip to Iturup, stock up on cash (don’t get messed up like me), terminals and ATMs are mostly out of reach.
To make the trip to Sakhalin go well, prepare a plan "B", and even better for all 33 letters of our alphabet.
Should I fly to Sakhalin? Definitely worth it! Drop everything, book tickets and fly away, because there will be no other life for this.
