Cafe Trzesniewski
Dorotheergasse 1, 1010 Vienna, Austria
About the company:
Cafe Trzesniewski is a legendary Viennese diner, famous throughout Austria for its signature tiny sandwiches. The diner is located in the historic center of Vienna, in the so-called Old Town.
This amazing diner opened its doors in 1902, so this place is more than 110 years old. The cafe was founded by Polish immigrant František Trzesniewski, and under his leadership the diner flourished until the First World War. During the war, when many catering establishments were closed, Frantisek kept the diner afloat, coming up with his famous sandwiches - tiny in size, but very tasty and cheap. Since then, his cafe has only sold them.
Nevertheless, the range of Trzesniewski cafes is quite wide - and although ordinary dishes are not found here, the menu offers visitors more than 18 varieties of those sandwiches. From drinks here you can order coffee, wine or beer.
