Central railway station of Plovdiv
Description:
Plovdiv Central Railway Station is located in the city center and is one of the largest transport hubs in Bulgaria, connecting the city not only with suburban stations, but also with Sofia and even Istanbul.
The station was opened in 1870 and currently has 11 railway tracks. In addition to conventional trains, special high-speed trains depart from the Central Station, which significantly reduce travel time. For example, the journey from Plovdiv to Sofia on such a train will take only two hours, instead of the usual four.
The station building is made in Baroque style by the Italian architect Mariano Parnigoni. On the territory there is a small cozy cafe where you can listen to music and drink a cup of coffee.
