Dormition Cathedral

The Assumption Cathedral or Cathedral of the Assumption of the Most Holy Theotokos is the largest temple in the city of Varna and is located in the center of the city on the square of Cyril and Methodius. The temple belongs to the Bulgarian Orthodox Church. It was erected in honor of the liberation of the city from Ottoman rule, and its doors opened to parishioners in 1886.

The three-nave dome cathedral is a magnificent monument of culture. The interior of the temple consists of magnificent frescoes, stained glass and icons. In the evening, the building has lighting, which makes it more elegant and beautiful. During the divine services in the cathedral you can hear the most famous male choir in Bulgaria.
