Sea and Canal Tour in Copenhagen

Description:

A boat tour will help you feel the charm of the city on the water and see Copenhagen from the other side - from the sea.

It is possible to choose one of the tours along the Canals of Copenhagen and enjoy all the sights, calmly passing by.

For example, the Netto-Bådene tour can start at Holmen Maritime Church, opposite the old Exchange building.

Through the Exchange Moat and Inner Harbour, the route leads us to New Harbour (Nyhavn) – a picturesque place with a cozy atmosphere, many beautiful old houses and sailing ships.

Nyhavn, despite its name, is one of the oldest parts of Copenhagen Harbour.

The canal was dug by soldiers in the late 17th century, within 2 years. At the end of the canal, near the New Royal Square, a real, large anchor is installed. It is a monument to 1,600 sailors who died during World War II.

Next we head to Holmen, a group of man-made islands that served as a Copenhagen naval base for more than 300 years.

Holman consists of four islands. On the island of Frederiksholm today the Danish Film Institute, the State Theatre Institute, the Music Conservatory, the Royal Academy of Architecture and Design and the new Opera House.

On the island of Nyholm (Nyholm) is the former sea station. The route passes by 250 years ago ancient bastions and powder cellars, in one of them - Frederick's Bastion, now an art gallery with changing exhibitions.

Sailing from Holman, you will see an old mast crane from 1748, which was used to install masts on sailing battleships.

Next to the mast crane is the Batteriet Sixtus, an ancient fortification that greets the Danish flag with a cannon salute every morning and every evening.
