The Blue Planet Oceanarium is a marvel of modern water architecture
Description:
In Denmark, there was a completely amazing aquarium, imitating the smooth shape of water, and striking with its curved lines.
The architects of the design studio 3XN built the building, realizing the idea of a whirlpool and even experienced real difficulties in creating the structure.
15 additional consultants, including those from Australia, were invited to implement the project.
In addition, the Foundation of the Danish Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik made a donation for the construction of the new oceanarium “Blue Planet”.
The Blue Planet has become not only original and considered an innovation in architecture, but also very elegant. History and aesthetics go hand in hand, and the aquarium embodies both.
The building is located in a picturesque place, near the embankment. Copenhagen Airport is a short drive away. The area of the construction is 9000 square meters.
It is planned that the aquarium will be visited by up to 700 thousand people a year.
Approaching this structure, it seems that the building floats in a circular mirror pool, and a walk through its interiors is a journey through several different organic worlds.
Upon entering the Blue Planet, there is a feeling of waiting inside for exciting adventures. From that moment, the whirlpool takes you to another world – a world that lies deep in the sea.
The 3,000 fish and marine animals from the old Charlottenlund Oceanarium have made many new friends in the Blue Planet. They will be fed with 17,000 newly acquired animals from around the world.
Our piranhas, crocodiles and anacondas welcome you!
