Copenhagen

Pass the Andersen road, thematic tour of Copenhagen

Description:

Good afternoon and welcome to Copenhagen. My name is Hans Christian Andersen, and today I want to tell you the story of my life, to show you the places where I lived or loved to visit Copenhagen.

I came to Copenhagen at the age of 14, knowing no living soul in the city. Hardly anyone would have thought that I would make sense. I came to Copenhagen alone, with almost no money, no plans for the future or patrons, I was illiterate and wrote with mistakes. Who would have thought that years would pass and I would communicate with kings, enter the homes of the highest Danish aristocracy, travel the world and be celebrated everywhere as a hero. In my native Odense, I will be made an honorary citizen, and as a fortune teller once told me, a festive salute will be held in my honor, my fairy tale books will be translated into more than 200 languages, I will be known around the world and become one of the most popular associations in people’s minds regarding the Danish kingdom and Copenhagen. I could hardly have dreamed of going into Copenhagen half-starved.

Are you ready to hear my story? Then on the way, I'll tell you without hiding it. We're going back in time and back to 19th-century Copenhagen, and I'm going to show you Copenhagen as I know it, and I hope you enjoy it. Over the next 2.5 hours, you will learn many interesting, rare and unusual facts from my life, and we will also try to understand how I managed to break through from the very bottom and poverty to the very top of the Danish aristocracy, how an awkward and shy boy from the province turned into an elegant socialite and how I turned from an illiterate young man into a great writer.

We all grew up on Christian Andersen’s fairy tales, but what exactly do we know about him? Andersen did not intend to become a children's writer, communicated with kings, but was a poor man from a poor man, there is an opinion about the royal origin of Andersen. It is simply incredible how much he managed to write, despite countless travels, a turbulent social life and a painful nature. If you want to understand who the great writer really was, then this tour is for you. It will also appeal to all outdoor enthusiasts and all those people who want to see Copenhagen from the 19th century. It is recommended for both children and adults.
