Travel – a quest based on Andersen’s fairy tales in Copenhagen
Description:
“A man must be steadfast as a tin soldier, faithful as Gerda, fearless as a soldier in the fairy tale Fire, and innocent as a boy in The King’s New Dress.” With this quote of the great storyteller Andersen begins our acquaintance with his work. Without a doubt, Andersen is the first association people think of when they hear the word “Denmark.” Many people were raised on the fairy tales of Andersen, so today we return to childhood for a walk in the fabulous Copenhagen, a city woven from the fairy tales of the great writer Andersen.
We are going on a quest, so we will look for: - the old courtyard where Kai and Gerda lived from the fairy tale "The Snow Queen"; - the scaffold on which they wanted to burn the mute Elsa from the fairy tale "Wild Swans"; A prison where a soldier was sentenced to death for dating a princess. - the castle, where in a stormy night, fleeing from the weather, knocked the princess; bridge over the city canal, on which the tin soldier sailed, in a boat of paper; Fish market, which was attended by a large fish that swallowed a tin soldier; The hotel where Andersen wrote his famous fairy tale The Little Mermaid.
We will not only get acquainted with the work of Andersen, but also guess numerous riddles from his fairy tales: - What is the word Kai in the castle of the Snow Queen? - Who helped the Little Mermaid become an Earth girl? - What prevented the princess from sleeping on a soft bed? and many, many others.
During the tour, we will also remember how events developed in the fairy tales “Ognivo”, “Thumbelina”, “The King’s New Dress” and “Ole Lukoye”, visit places related to the life of the great writer and learn many interesting facts from his life. Everything in Copenhagen has to plunge into a fabulous atmosphere: colorful houses, curvature of the streets of the medieval city, ancient lanterns, smiling locals and swaying boats at the moorings.
