Castle of Roses (Rosenborg)
Description:
Visiting Copenhagen – and not visiting Rosenborg Castle, the royal “dacha” located in the center of the capital – is a big omission.
There are three reasons why Rosenborg is worth a visit.
First reason. A walk along the Cavaliers' Path and the Ladies' Path in the Royal Garden, which at the same time preserved the landscape structure of 1606 and is a picnic place for Copenhageners.
Second reason. Built in the first half of the seventeenth century by King Christian 4 as a summer palace, the castle itself provides a rare opportunity for informal exposure to the lives of Danish monarchs over three centuries.
Third reason. The treasury of the Danish crown will weave for you the intrigue of more than one adventurous novel from Danish royal history.
