Frederiksberg Park
Frederiksberg Runddel 3G, 2000 Frederiksberg, Denmark
Description:
Frederiksberg Park, located in the eponymous commune of Copenhagen near the metro station of the same name and a few kilometers from the city center. Fredericksberg Park was established in 1700 during the reign of Frederick IV. The garden surrounding the royal palace was made in the Baroque style and was one of the most beautiful creations of garden and park architecture.
At the turn of the XVIII-XIX centuries, the garden was redesigned by order of Frederick VI and turned into a romantic English landscape garden. In the course of this reconstruction, a whole cascade of picturesque ponds was created, connected by a network of winding canals. This was done in order to divert excess water from the lower areas of the garden, and was removed at the same time to drain low-lying areas in the garden, so that it became possible to grow new exotic trees and shrubs in the garden.
The modern garden is replete with many winding paths and canals and amazes with the richness and diversity of vegetation. In addition to its historical value, Fredriksberg Park offers its visitors to experience a real unity with nature - many birds of different species live here, guests are offered the opportunity to ride boats along the canals. In summer, in specially equipped areas, it is allowed to make bonfires and enjoy night entertainment with songs and music.
