The square is located between the Slotsholmen Canal and Amagert Square
Description:
Hasbro is a small rectangular square located between the Slotsholmen Canal and Amagert Square. It got its name from the bridge that connects this part of Copenhagen with the island on the other side of the canal. After the Great Fire of 1795, the square, like many other ruined parts of the city, was rebuilt. All the buildings in Hasbro Square are built in the neoclassical style that characterized the building boom after the fire.
But the main attraction of the square is in its center. Here is a sculpture of the founder of Copenhagen. It depicts Bishop Absalon on horseback and with an axe in his right hand, with which he points to Christiansborg Palace. The author of the equestrian statue was the architect Wilhelm Bissen, who depicted a rather unusual vision of the bishop-warrior - Absalon was dressed not in his magistrate clothes, but in full combat armor.
