The Cliffs of Meons Clint

Mø ns Klint, Klintevej 544, 4791 Borre, Denmark

Description:

One of the most interesting natural attractions of Denmark is the white cliffs of Möns Klint, stretching for several kilometers along the Baltic Sea. The rocks were formed due to natural processes over 75 million years and today are an incomparable sight.

In some places, the Möns Clint cliffs rise to 128 meters above sea level. Along the tops of the rocks grows beech forest, in the shade of which you can find rare plants. For example, there are up to twenty species of orchids.

The rocks of Meons Clint not only have an extremely attractive appearance. It was here that the most important archaeological discoveries were made - during excavations, the remains of many species of extinct marine animals were found.
