Luxor

Temple of Set I

Luxor, Egypt

Description:

The temple of Seti I (Egypt, Luxor) is a very richly decorated sanctuary, the construction of which began during the life of the pharaoh. The construction was completed during the time of Ramesses II, son of the great pharaoh Seti I. The coordinates of the temple are 25.73261400 and 32.62835400.

In the last century, many elements of this temple were damaged by flooding, so the limestone and large sand blocks had to be reconstructed. Unfortunately, the first two pylons of the temple turned into ruins. Of particular interest is the foundation of the royal palace discovered during archaeological excavations.
