Luxor International Airport
Description:
Luxor International Airport serves the area of the modern city of Luxor and the surrounding historically significant territories. From here all the journeys in the Nile valley area begin.
The airport is the fourth largest in Egypt. It currently handles about 1 million passengers a year, but upgrades to its terminals in 2005 raise that number to 8 million. In the process of reconstruction, the increased requirements for comfort in the terminal were fully taken into account. As a result, there were restaurants and cafes, post office, VIP-hall, pharmacy, souvenir shop. There is a Duty Free store with a quite traditional assortment: perfume, alcohol, sweets. Wi-Fi is available throughout the airport. There is a bank branch and currency exchange.
The airport has two terminals: one for local flights, the other for international flights. Regularly operated charter flights related to the service of tourists.
The arrivals are usually met by representatives of travel companies for further transfer. If you travel by yourself, you can get to Luxor by taxi. This is not far away and relatively inexpensive (but don’t forget to bargain!).
