Sharm El Sheikh

Main street of El Fanar

Egypt, Sharm El-Sheikh, Hadaba

Description:

One of the central streets in the famous Sharm el-Sheikh is El-Fanar Street. It stretches from the business center of the district to the bay of Ras-um-Sid. Its name was due to the twenty-meter lighthouse located on the coast (“fanar” in translation means “lighthouse”). It is quite long, almost along the entire Hadaba Peninsula. Also, the attention of tourists is attracted by the memorial of the victims of the plane crash of 2004, located on it. The crash occurred in the Red Sea area when a plane carrying French tourists crashed into the water. The street overlooks the paid beach of the same name owned by an Italian entrepreneur, with a unique coral reef. El Fanar crosses other city streets.

You can get there by car or public transport. Along the street there are several stops for taxis.
