You will see many unique sights that will allow you to understand and love Estonia!

Our guide offers you a fascinating tour of Lahemaa Park, rightfully occupying the place of one of the key attractions of Estonia. The oldest and largest Estonian national park, Lahemaa, was founded in 1971 and has an area of 72 thousand hectares, of which one third is the sea. Translated from Estonian, Lahemaa means “land of the bays”. Numerous islands create magnificent seascapes with scattering of Ice Age boulders. Lahemaa is a landlord’s manor (museum), turned into rest houses and museums, ancient fishing villages with a unique flavor, swamps surrounded by pine-grown sand dunes, mysterious forest lakes and thickets, where more than 200 species of birds and about 900 species of plants live.

Below you can find the details of our tour:

1. Viru Swamp is one of the smallest bogs in Estonia. It was formed about 5000 years ago as a result of overgrowth of the lake, separated from the sea. For tourists there is a trail with a boardwalk length of 3.5 km. We'll walk the trail and go up to the observation tower.

2. Kolga Manor, Counts Stenbokov Manor, the largest landlord house in Estonia. The house has now been partially restored. Now this house is waiting for new owners.

3. Käsmu is known as the "Village of Captains", and from 1884 to 1931 it operated the School of Sailors. The rich maritime history of Käsmu makes this village a real museum. In the village we will visit the wonderful Maritime Museum, the collector and owner of which is a descendant of the famous dynasty of sailors Myannikov.

4. The fishing village of Altya. A very beautiful village, where modern well-groomed buildings coexist with ancient residential rigs. We will pass this village to the ritual stone of Titekivi. According to legend, if anyone wants a child to be born in the family, it is necessary to throw a pebble from the shore to this huge boulder.

5. Vihula Manor is a von Lode estate, and since the 18th century it belonged to the Schubert family, who built a magnificent local complex, which became one of the most beautiful in northern Estonia. Now there is a Spa hotel on the estate.

6. The large Baroque complex of Sagadi Manor is very well restored. In the large bar house there is a museum with preserved original furniture, and in the former carriage building there is a forest museum, which must be visited.

7. Baron Palen’s Manor – Palms is the heart of Lahemaa National Park. These people have contributed to Russian history. So Peter Alekseevich Palen, led the attempt on Paul 1, his son Karl Magnus - the hero of the war of 1812, and their descendant, Alexander von Palen, being Minister of Railways, built a railway from St. Petersburg to Revel.

Depending on the wishes of tourists, the tour route can be adjusted. If desired, we can get acquainted with a particular attraction longer. For large groups, you can book an inexpensive lunch in roadside taverns in advance. We recommend a tour of Lahemaa Park for anyone interested in Estonian and Tallinn history in particular.
