St. Birgitta Monastery and the History of the Pirita District
Description:
The ruins of the monastery of St. Birgitta are located in a picturesque place on the bank of the Pirita River. The history of this monastery dates back to 1407, when it was founded in Tallinn. It did not last long, as it was destroyed and burned during the Livonian War. Next to it is already in our time built the parish of the Order of St. Birgitta. Nearby is the Sailing Center, where the Sailing Regatta of the Moscow Olympic Games was held in 1980.
