The legacy of Peter I. revel
Description:
This car tour will acquaint you not only with the sights of the city, but also immerse you in the history of Peter I’s stay in Tallinn. The palace and park complex Kadriorg will not leave you indifferent.
The route of the excursion “Heritage of Peter I of Revele” approximately corresponds to the route of the excursion “Tallinn outside the fortress walls”, but additionally we will get acquainted with a number of wonderful sights of Tallinn. As part of the tour “Heritage of Peter I of Revele”, we will also visit the house of Peter I with a beautiful exposition dedicated to his stay in the Estonian land. We will visit the Kadriorg Palace, which is a unique representative of the Petrovsky Baroque, an artistic style that disappeared in Russia in the 19th century. The Russian emperor built this palace complex for his wife, Catherine I. Between the Petar House and the royal palace is now the city residence of the Estonian president. We will walk through the park and visit the Museum of Western European and Russian Art.
If you wish, you can visit the KUMU Museum, which presents a large collection of contemporary art by Estonian sculptors, artists and innovators. Guest exhibitions are often held. Before visiting Kadriorg, we can deviate from the tour route and stop at the military cemetery, where the infamous Bronze Soldier monument was moved in the spring of 2007. A successful and logical continuation of the tour will be a visit to another attraction of Tallinn - "Estonian TV Tower", on the observation deck, which from a height of 170 meters you can see all the surroundings of the city.
We recommend the tour tour "Heritage of Peter I of Revele" primarily for Russian tourists who are proud of the history of Russia. We will talk about the indestructible bond that connects Tallinn, and with it the whole of Estonia, with Emperor Peter I and the Russian Empire created by him. It will be both an exciting and informative tour!
