Turku is so alive and real...
Description:
I want to introduce you to the city I fell in love with at first sight. The wonderful calm atmosphere, many flowers, the embankment of the Aura River, people and sights - I will show you what I like it so much. Turku combines a deep past and a progressive present in an unusually harmonious way.
The road to the city will take about two hours, along a flat path among fields, forests, rocks and tunnels. We will visit the Cathedral, learn from what balcony proclaim the Christmas world, walk (or drive) along the picturesque embankment with boats, cafes, unusual monuments and a modern shipyard. Having looked with one eye at the parts of ancient houses found during excavations, we will approach the shipbuilding museum and look into the magnificent Turku Castle. Since the 13th century it served as a fortress, a luxurious palace, an administrative center, a prison, a warehouse and a barracks. Today it is an important historical monument and the most popular tourist site. Here we can have a snack or a full lunch in the restaurant, tasty and inexpensive. We will drive to the unique Art Museum, visit the Orthodox Church and make a wish, petting the Horse of Happiness. Unique architectural structures, amazing monuments and some surprises await us in this city. I look forward to our trip, which will last about 7 hours.
