Turku

Railway Station (Turku)

Description:

The Turkish Railway Station was founded in 1876. It is the passenger terminal of Turku Station and the largest railway station in Finland, which serves up to 1 million people a year.

At the beginning of the opening of the railway, the train route was short, only from Tampere and Toyala, but in 1899 the route was extended and trains followed to Helsinki. In 1938, it was decided to demolish the old station building and build a new modern building instead. However, despite the fact that Turku railway station is the largest station, its building is no different. It was built at a modern level, but the brightness of the architecture does not stand out.

On June 7, 2010, Turku Railway Station was officially renamed Turku Central Railway Station.
