Republic Square
Description:
Tourists arriving in Croatia by cruise ferry hurry to visit one of the most famous places in Split - Republic Square (Procurative). Nearby extend the fortress walls of the Palace of Diocletian. A large rectangular open square surrounded by ancient buildings is created in the likeness of the squares of Venice. On the south side of the square there is a magnificent view of the harbor and a beautiful sea promenade.
In the evening, the square is lit with bright lights. During the day, tourists enjoy the magnificent panorama of the coast, relaxing in local cafes and restaurants. The square regularly hosts concerts, music festivals and other cultural festivals.
The square is located in the center of Split.
