Zagreb Railway Station
Description:
Zagreb Railway Station was founded in 1892. At the beginning of the XX century, its territory was significantly expanded, a new depot, hotel and utility rooms were built next to the main building.
In 1987, extensive reconstruction and modernization of the central building took place. It is the best example of neoclassical architecture. The structure is generously decorated with relief columns, porticoes, stucco details and elegant sculptures. The facade of the building is crowned with iron fencing with bizarre forged patterns.
The station has 6 platforms with massive roofs to service 11 railway tracks. In the spacious waiting room, conditions are created for a comfortable stay of passengers, including a playroom for children, a VIP hall, currency exchange offices, as well as cozy cafes and restaurants where you can have a snack and relax while waiting for the train.
Under the railway track of the station there is a tunnel connecting the two parts of the city, the entrance to which is located next to the main building. There are many shops, cafes and a round-the-clock supermarket.
