Excursion to the wine cellars of Castile - La Manchi.
Description:
Rioja, Jerez, Malaga - these names of Spanish wines are known all over the world, but the oldest and most consumed wines in Spain have very different names, and their homeland is called Castilla La Mancha - the land of vineyards and winemakers, where wine production existed since the Roman conquerors more than 2000 years ago.
One of these wineries is called bodega MARISCAL, which is located 70 kilometers from Madrid (Spanish bodega - wine cellar, winery).
Bodega MARISCAL, of course, is not so ancient, its glorious history began in 1913, although vineyards growing on this land are mentioned in manuscripts of the XVI century, back in the time of Philip II. Its founder is hereditary winemaker Don Eusebio Mariscal Picazo. The current owner of the bodega - the great-grandson of the founder also bears a name and surname - Senor Eusebio Mariscal - just so, señor with a capital letter, which, alas, you will hardly meet. The name Mariscal is Spanish for Marshal.
And this is not a metaphor, the owner of this bodega really looks like a marshal in his far considerable winery. Bodega vineyards cover an area of 3,000 hectares. Wine is made from the best grape varieties - Tempranillo Tinto, Malvar Blanco, Cabernet-Sauvignon, Torrontes Blanco. All wines produced here belong to the Denominacion de Origen - "DO" - a kind of mark of quality.
The best Spanish wines of the decade are the 2001 and 2004 wines. It is the wine "Tierra Rubia" from 2004 bodega Mariscal grapes that received a gold medal in the international competition and deserved admiration of all world winemakers. After a very exciting tour of the winery, guests are waiting for lunch from local cuisine and wine tasting, including bodega pearls, wine that won a gold medal, with a unique unforgettable bouquet. There are also 3 types of liqueurs produced here. Not only in Spain, the products of this bodega were appreciated. Mariscal wines are exported to many countries of the world - Denmark, Norway, Finland, Germany, Lithuania, Latin America. At the bodega there is a store where you can not only buy the wine you like during the tasting, but also arrange it in the form of a luxurious gift to your loved ones. To do this, there are wooden boxes from the simplest to the amazing beauty of chests made of mahogany. You can only imagine the joy of someone who will receive such a magnificent gift! And for the soul, I advise you to buy and take home an unusually tasty vermouth at a price of 3.60 euros per liter bottle. It also sells cheeses, which, according to experts, are the best in Spain, and hot sausages - chorizo.
Spain is one of the most interesting countries in the world, and wine tourism in this country will make your trip unforgettable.
