Madonna della Salute in Italy

Description:

Temple of Santa Maria della Salute
It is celebrated every year on November 21, in Venice, in honor of the Madonna della Salute, which is dedicated to the temple that rises on the banks of the large canal of Venice. The temple was built in memory of getting rid of the plague in 1630.

On this day, the Venetians visit the temple of Santa Maria della Salute, to the entrance of which a temporary bridge of boats is built across the Grand Canal. In the temple, solemn mass is served, and on the street, on the shelves of tents, they sell all sorts of souvenirs and sweets.

Castradina (La castradina) is a very tasty meat dish made of lamb, which is prepared specifically for this holiday.
