Sightseeing tour of the city of Pisa

Pisa is one of the most famous examples of the Middle Ages. From the 11th to the 13th century, Pisa’s powerful fleet dominated the western Mediterranean. The trade union with Spain and North Africa contributed to the development of culture, during which magnificent architectural monuments were created. Campo dei Miracoli (Field of Miracles) is home to four world-famous masterpieces of medieval architecture such as the Baptistery, the Dome Cathedral, the Bell Tower (falling Leaning Tower of Pisa) and the Monumental Cemetery. All these buildings create an almost cosmic harmony rising above the emerald-green lawns of the Pisa Field of Miracoli. A powerful architectural ensemble was created for several centuries by the efforts of the best Italian backbenchers. In 1987, the architectural ensemble was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
