Vittorio Veneto Street
Via Vittorio Veneto, 62, Rome, Italy, 00187
Description:
Via Vittorio Veneto is Rome’s most famous street, named after the Battle of Vittorio Veneto in northern Italy during World War I.
The street was the center of secular life since the end of the XVIII century. However, the popularity of this crowded place has increased since the middle of the twentieth century. There were many shops, shops, cozy cafes and hotels, in which celebrities preferred to stay.
Some historical events are also connected with the street. Caf de Paris and Harry’s Bar were featured in Federico Fellini’s Sweet Life.
In the 1980s the street lost its former popularity.
Now it is again one of the busiest places in the city. Walking along the street, you can see such ancient buildings of the XVII century as the church of Santa Maria della Concezione, the walls of which are decorated with canvases of famous Italian artists and a miniature bee fountain created by the architect Bernini. Here are the most expensive and fashionable hotels in Rome, as well as the US Embassy.
