Mole-Antonelliana Tower
Description:
The Mole Antonelliana Tower is considered a symbol of the Italian city of Turin. Until recently, it was the highest building in the country, the height of the tower is 167 meters. Today, Mole Antonelliana is the tallest brick building in Europe.
The tower was laid by architect Alessandro Antonelli in the 19th century, when Turin was the capital of Italy. The historical appearance of this experimental building in 53 of the last century was distorted by a tornado - a spire 47 meters high was damaged. The Mole Antonelliana has been restored and since 2000 it has housed the National Museum of Cinematography with a rich collection of exhibits. Under the dome of the tower there is an observation deck, which offers an impressive view of all of Turin, as well as Piedmont and the Alps.
