Murano Island

2 kilometers north of Rialto Island

Description:

Murano - 5 small islets of the Venetian archipelago, where everything is subordinated to one ancient passion - the manufacture of beautiful glass, which the whole world knows under the name of Murano. Historically, all glassblower production was once moved here from Venice.

By and large, it makes sense to look here only at the glass workshops themselves, at the actual manufacture of fragile masterpieces and at the finished product. Here it is in abundance and for all tastes. It is believed that the island has a “special atmosphere”, outside of which the same beautiful glass as made on Murano will not work. These and other details can be found by visiting the Museum of Glass Art - a repository of a grandiose collection of incredible glass items, or simply chatting with the craftsmen during a walk.
