The Falling Tower

Description:

The bell tower of one of the ancient churches in Venice is slowly but surely falling to one side. The Venetian city administration for monitoring historical monuments investigated the bell tower of the Gothic church of San Stefano built in the XVI century. It turned out that over the past 60 years, since the last inspection, the bell tower tilted sideways by 6.1 cm. To this must be added the roll, which was formed for several centuries since the construction of the building. In 1770, the inclination index was equal to 80 centimeters, and by 1900 it increased to 170 centimeters, and now it is about 180 centimeters.
