"The Truth About Angkor"
Description:
This day may be one of the most memorable in life!
- We have prepared for you a new reading of the classic “Little Circle”, trying to recreate the atmosphere of the first expeditions.
The place of banal transfer by car, took comfortable wide tuk-tuks, modern analogues of colonial brigs. A pleasant fresh wind in the face, an open horizon and the ability to feel the pulse of the ancient city directly. Along the way, we will definitely pause: look into the chamber temples, hidden from the mass flow, and appreciate the taste of the local coffee. This is an important respite, because climbing to the tops of ancient shrines is not an easy matter.
Our route can begin at dawn and, with a break at a sultry noon, end only at sunset.
- Phnom Bakeng is an important accent to start the journey. An amazing temple-observatory, showing that ancient civilization put the scientific method at the head of the pyramid. And stars and astronomy were the guide to knowledge.
- Angkor Wat is a masterpiece of Khmer architecture. The largest temple of the planet, the sacred model of the universe, the tomb of the emperor and the main mystery that we have to decipher together.
- Next is Angkor Thom, the “Great Capital”. A bastion protected by mighty walls and deep moats. For centuries, treasures and stories have been kept behind them, which we will literally extract from under the stones.
- Bayon is the final chord of Khmer culture, a Buddhist shrine with its thirty-seven towers. Paradoxical faces, frozen in stone, look at you from everywhere, creating a sense of timeless dialogue. Let's finish our walk at Ta Prohm. This is a forest sanctuary where time has lost its battle with nature. Once the richest treasury today is dominated by age-old trees: their roots, like the tentacles of a giant octopus, intertwined with the ruins, holding them in their arms.
I will help you restore the logic of events and revive the chronicles of ancient Angkor. We will take secret trails to see authentic masterpieces that usually elude the eye of the casual tourist.
