Individual excursion with a professional guide
Description:
Ko Ko Ker
In the 10th century, a ruler of Angkor illegally seized power and moved the center of the Khmer Empire 100 km from Angkor. In just 20 years he builds a new capital Lingapura (Ko Ker).
Ko Ker is distinguished by the spirit of gigantism. In the 10th century it was the largest in area; the largest stone blocks were used; the highest sanctuaries were built. And the statues of the gods were created as massive giants under 3 meters, giving them childish soft features. It's amazing how much effort was put into this city and then suddenly abandoned. The circumstances of the ruler’s death are still unknown. Nowadays it is a quiet sparsely populated hinterland of Cambodia. It's hard to describe how intense the emotions are when you come to Koh Ker and see a 35-meter stone pyramid. Climbing to its top is the culmination of the growing sensual tension from the perception of the complex.
The route includes temples:
The central complex of Prasat Tom with the pyramid of Prang and the temple of Kroch completely. temple Neang Khmao damre temple linga Beng Mele
Lost in the jungle is a large temple in vines. It is worth visiting, if only because of its unreal atmosphere. Colossal ruins and powerful tropical nature. Located on the road to Koch Ker. There are no epigraphic inscriptions in the temple. It is not mentioned in Chinese or Indian written sources. Its dating is judged by its architectural style, which is very close to Angkor Wat in the 12th century.
