Legends and myths of Angkor. Tour to Angkor

Description:

Angkor is one of the most mysterious places on Earth. Hundreds of stone buildings, erected about a thousand years ago, still keep their secrets and excite the imagination of people: when and who built these temples? why? All these questions seem to come to visitors of these places on excursions in Angkor. For many, we still don't know the answer.

Here, every square centimeter of hot gray stone has its own history, and you can hear it if you listen to it.

The excursion program in Angkor "Legends and myths of Angkor" combines the most interesting and beautiful places of Angkor, which are associated with numerous stories and myths.

This is about 50 miles of the route, during which you will see:

Angkor Wat is the largest and main temple of Angkor, depicted on the flag of Cambodia. On an excursion to Angkor Wat, we will walk through its galleries and as if we are transported through time and space, because here the great Indian poems “Ramayana” and “Mahabharata” are reflected on the famous bas-reliefs. Angkor Wat itself gives the impression of a frozen piece of eternity.

In addition to the excursion to Angkor Wat, the route program includes the following amazing and unusual places:

Bayon is a mystery temple, a mystic temple, perhaps the most mysterious place on Earth. The emotions of huge stone faces, of which a temple is woven, change depending on the lighting and angle of view. Who are these faces? What do you want to tell me?

Ta Prohm is an amazing place where stone and wood seem to form a single whole. The temple was not specifically cleared so that visitors could feel at least a little like the discoverers of Angkor.

Phimeanekas is a small temple lost in the forest, on top of which there was once a secret room in which the queen of snakes lived. Every night the Khmer rulers had to come to her.

Preah Khan is an intricate maze of galleries and passageways, in which additional buildings are chaotically scattered. In one of its corners live two apsaras, wish-fulfilling.

Neak Pin is an amazing place, the nature around which more resembles the landscapes of Karelia or the Northern Urals. The temple is a collection of five pools, the waters of which were considered healing. In the central pool there is a sculpture depicting the Balahu horse, the personification of the bodhisattva of compassion Avalokiteshvara.

Pre Rup is an unusually beautiful and peaceful place, especially at sunset, when the rays of the sun begin to play on the brick and laterite surface of the temple. The name of the temple translates as “turning the body” and it is somehow connected with sweet cucumbers.
