Siem Reap

Tour "Unknown Cambodia" of Ratanakiri and Moldulkiri provinces

Description:

This exclusive tour for a few days is suitable for those who love: mountain landscapes, waterfalls, rafting, acquaintance with the exotic life of the local population and, of course, walks in the jungle.

The tour begins in Siem Reap or Phnom Penh and takes place in Cambodia in the mountainous provinces of Ratanakiri and Moldulkiri, mostly in the administrative center of Ratanakiri - Banlung.

These regions are located on the border of Cambodia, Laos and Vtnam.

The main attraction of Ratanakiri is, of course, natural beauty. Virgin untouched nature, national parks, a large number of reservoirs, crater lakes (!), waterfalls - the wealth of this region.

The provinces are sparsely populated and 70% of the population is made up of unique ethnic minorities called the Khmer Mountains. These are many different ethnic groups (there are separate ethnic groups numbering up to 50 people), each of which has its own distinctive feature. The local population lives in a communal-tribal system, they are engaged in gathering and hunting and, as a rule, lead a nomadic lifestyle, profess unique pagan cults (totems, worship of fire, water, philism). There are not so many unique places on the planet, except in the Amazon and Africa. Of course, an integral part of the tour is to visit the sites of these hill tribes.

Many who have visited or are going to visit the Kingdom of Cambodia know that coffee and rubber are grown in the country, some of you may even have heard the names of the provinces of Ratanakiri and Moldukiri, where coffee plantations and the givei tree are located. By the way, in Ratanakiri there are a complex of deposits of precious (ruby) and semi-precious stones (chrysolites, opals, tourmalines, etc.). The tour program includes visits to various plantations (coffee, rubber, cashew, mango, tobacco).

In the vicinity of the administrative center of Ratanakiri - the city of Banlung, you can arrange a bike tour of mountain trails, walks on elephants in the jungle, kayaking.

The road to Ratanakiri mostly runs along the mighty Mekong River, in some places of which there are very rare freshwater dolphins - Irrawaddy. Many tourists make a stop in the city of Krace to observe the activity of these freshwater mammals. A spectacle that is almost impossible to see anywhere in the world.

The route can pass through the temple complex Koh Ker, the temple of Preah Vihea (border with Thailand, a temple on a rock of 500 m).

This tourist destination is only becoming popular with avid travelers from all over the world, and you, dear guest, do not miss the opportunity to touch: to the pagan mysticism of the cults of the Khmer Mountains, to the pristine nature of the subequatorial jungle, to places where there were only a few travelers before you, having visited the provinces of Ratanakiri and Moldukiri accompanied by a Russian guide.
