Siem Reap

Forgotten holy things. Koh Ker and Beng Melea

Description:

A mystical adventure with a visit to strange and abandoned places with creepy stories.

Every story has dark spots. In Cambodian history, almost everything is dark spots with a few bright spots. In this tour we will plunge into this attractive and mysterious space of mystery. The alternative capital, Koh Ker, was built in no time, but empty just as quickly. And the Beng Melea temple is still in the arms of the jungle - our way lies there. Charming and quiet, this “prototype” of Angkor is a must-see for people who have fallen in love with the architecture of the Khmer Empire.

Program details. In Beng Melea we will wander through the jungle and try to feel the delicate and magical atmosphere of this temple. And then we go further, to the ancient Koch Ker, built in the tenth century. It was once filled with life, but, unable to withstand the competition with Angkor, the city was given to the jungle. So simple – with numerous temples and fields. In the center of the disgraced capital there is a giant ziggurat Pran – there is a completely separate fascinating story about it, which I will tell you directly on the spot.

This place is not caressed by tourists, so there is a chance that we will be completely alone there.
