Tour to the Fireflies in Kuala Selangor + Silver Monkeys of Langura
Description:
On this excursion we will go to the city of Kuala Selangor, located 60 km north of Kuala Lumpur. At the beginning, we will visit Bukit Melawati Fort, where friendly, silvery monkeys live, after feeding and photos with the Langur, we will go to dinner* in the local fishing village to taste fresh seafood dishes, and after dark, we will go to the village of Kampung Kuantan, where we will visit one of the largest colonies of fireflies.
Bukit Melawati is a historic hill or formerly called Fort Melawati, one of the most popular tourist attractions of Kuala Selangor. On this hill in colonial times was a mighty defensive fortress in the late 18th and early 19th century, built by Sultan Ibrahim.
Silver monkeys of Langura are observed in various forest areas: mangrove forests, beaches, freshwater swamps, low-lying and hilly forests, as well as in mountain forests up to 3,500 meters above sea level.
In the city flows the river Selangor, on the banks of which for decades lives a huge colony of lightflies. You can't see the lights. But you have to swim up to the mangrove trees, and before you, it's like a magical majesty. Brains and stems are strewn with small green lights and they all blink
