Hubsugul Lake

hubsugul

Description:

Lake Khubsugul is located on the territory of the national park of the same name and is a sacred place for every Mongolian. Once it was a huge volcano, which by our time is quite old and extinct, and its crater is still filled with water. For its incredibly blue and transparent water, it is called the “Blue Pearls of Asia” and “Mother’s Sea”. This largest lake in the country is a national symbol and the main treasure.

Tourists are offered hiking and equestrian routes along the reserve with open-air stops and local tourist centers. It is also possible to descend to the lake by one of the 46 rivers flowing into it. There are three large islands in the middle of the lake, but even the largest of them, Daline Modon Huis, is gradually going under water due to the slowly but relentlessly rising water levels.

Lake Hubsugul Valley is a unique place. For several thousand kilometers in the district there is not that any industry or industries - there are no large cities or civilized settlements familiar in our understanding. If you want to see nature untouched by man, it’s one of the few places left on the planet today.
