Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar, Bayanzurkh.

About the company:

The House-Museum of the Roerichs in Ulaanbaatar is a complex of buildings, including a restored house in which the Roerich family spent the winter of 1926-1927 during their Central Asian expedition. The museum is located in the Bayanzurkh district, behind the Otgontengar University.

From September 1926 to March 1927, the Roerichs were held in the capital of the Mongolian People’s Republic, Ulaanbaatar.

The initiative to restore the house built in the Russian style belongs to the artist N. Sanchir.

The opening of the house-museum took place on July 6, 2009, timed to coincide with the birthday of the Dalai Lama XIV. The day before, an iron stupa was installed in the yard in front of the house-museum, made of a scrapped Soviet tank.

Inside were placed – 108 volumes of Ganjour, a statue of the Buddha of the book “Shambala” by N. Roerich, “Fundamentals of Buddhism” by E. I. Roerich, as well as “Tibet Tanks” by Y. N. Roerich translated into Mongolian.

The opening ceremony was attended by Canadian Buddhist G. Moulin, who oversaw the work of collecting donations.
