Sun Woo Ponya Shin Paya Temple
Description:
Sung Woo Ponya Shin Paya Temple is located on one of the 37 hills of the Sagaing Hills chain in Burma.
This temple was built by a sage named Wu Ponya and is the most significant in Sagaing. The temple has a terrace with a beautiful view of the surrounding hills, neighboring temples and the Irrawaddy River.
One of the unusual factors is complete peace and rarely disturbed silence: near this pagoda there are no hawkers, barked and any noisy companies.
The interior of the pagoda is decorated with glass tiles and mosaics, which makes it memorable and very beautiful. Inside the temple there are also several statues of Buddhas, and in the “hallway” walls are decorated with photos of influential people who have raised in this temple, photos, by the way, quite a lot.
As in any Buddhist temple, it is not allowed to walk in shoes, and you need at least in general terms to observe other non-complex customs.
