What kind of tourism is needed in Russia?
On the platform “Developing Tourism Together”, everyone can share an idea of how to make travel around the country more comfortable and interesting.
Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Tourism of the Russian Federation Elena Lysenkova: “Ideas on the platform are an occasion to carefully study the situation, an opportunity to identify the non-obvious tourist potential of the territories ...”
One of the most popular categories on the platform is services and services (19 percent of ideas). Russians want new formats of excursions, for example, during long transfers at airports.
Another group of proposals concerns thematic tours: a New Year’s trip to Santa Claus, immersion in the noble manor culture or acquaintance with the production of Orenburg down scarves.
The Russians proposed to launch new services on railway transport: to make a “walking” car in long-distance trains or to provide long stops with the ability to book a hotel in the city.
Tourists are waiting for new food points on hiking trails in nature reserves and other tourist spots, and gastroenthusiasts dream of a cafe with dishes from local products.
15% of users want rooms and services to meet international quality standards. People offer to develop the infrastructure of campsites: toilets, showers, electricity.
There are also unique wishes - the construction of balneological resorts.
14% of ideas relate to the field of improvement and navigation. Tourists want to see clear navigation and equipped walking routes.
The development of functional infrastructure will make tourism more accessible for people with limited mobility. The Russians propose to introduce a design code in the historical centers of cities and restore the facades of buildings.
13% of ideas are about transport: creating convenient public transport routes between cities and regions. In tourist cities want to see a developed infrastructure for bicycles and scooters.
In other categories, ideas for the development of ecotourism and rural tourism have become popular - renting farm-type houses with vegetable gardens.
