Egypt to treat tourists who contracted coronavirus on holiday

Egypt will reimburse foreign tourists who contract the coronavirus on arrival or while on holiday.

Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled al-Anani said: If a tourist who came to Egypt contracted the coronavirus, there are two mechanisms to solve this problem. If the disease is not severe, then the hotel reports information about the infected to the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Tourism. The traveler is allocated a separate room in the hotel, there is treatment as the traveler himself, there and his environment (if there are symptoms) at the expense of the hotel.”

The second option, al-Anani said, involves severe illness and hospitalization.

The traveler is being taken to hospital and treatment for the coronavirus will be carried out at the expense of the Ministry of Health of Egypt.

Egypt receives tourists with vaccines approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) and Russian vaccines (Satellite V). After the resumption of flights between Russia and the resorts of Egypt, less than 1% of Russian citizens returned home with symptoms of coronavirus.

Entry to Egypt is possible with a certificate of full vaccination (in English), which contains a QR code, you can go on a trip 14 days after receiving the second component of the vaccine. A tourist may submit a PCR test done no later than 72 hours before departure to Egypt.

Children under 6 years old do not need to provide certificates. If a tourist does not have a vaccination certificate or PCR test, they can be tested at the airport.

All tourists must complete the Health Declaration Form on the plane.
