Payment card for foreign tourists can be launched in Russia in early 2024.
Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Dmitry Vakhrukov said: I hope that early next year we will launch this system into commercial operation. It depends on the banks.”
On June 29, the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov announced the adoption in the third reading of the law, according to which foreign tourists will be able to issue a virtual card “Mir” for the necessary payment transactions in Russia. Upon arrival, they will receive it physically or use it in virtual mode via their phone.
