According to ATOR (Association of Tour Operators of Russia), now on the Crimean Peninsula rest about 150-200 thousand tourists, while organized - no more than 30-40,000.
According to Sergey Romashkin, ATOR Vice President for Domestic Tourism, General Director of the Dolphin tour operator, the situation with the entry and exit of tourists is changing rapidly, and all organized tourists maintain contact with their tour operators or their representatives.
About 80% of holidaymakers arrived in Crimea on their own cars – they have the right to complete their vacation at any time and leave on their own.
What gives the introduction of the emergency regime: explanations ATOR
The ATOR Legal Service explained that with the introduction of the emergency regime, the authorities have the opportunity to quickly make decisions: to adjust the work plans of enterprises, to use transport and equipment of organizations for rescue measures.
Authorities can restrict or completely prohibit the entry and stay of people in the territory where the emergency occurred. If there is a threat to life, mandatory evacuation can be introduced - people will be taken to safe areas and provided with temporary housing. For security reasons, access to certain coastal zones and forests may also be closed.
