Cuba comments on 'new rules' for tourists

Representatives of Cuban tourism commented on the recent changes in the reception of international travelers.

The main thing is that there is no 5-day quarantine for Cayo Coco, the biosecurity tax is in the plans, there are no additional payments, the quarantine conditions for contact persons are explained.

Cuba Modifies the conditions of reception of foreign tourists, seeking to make them as comfortable as possible for guests.

Tourists who have had contact with the sick will be accommodated in previously booked hotels, but will have to survive a 5-day quarantine in the room. After its completion, there will be a free PCR test again.

If the result is negative, tourists will complete the quarantine. With a positive result, tourists will be resettled in Sol Cayo Coco 4*, where foreigners with confirmed coronavirus will now live.

The Cuban side clarifies the information that appeared in social networks and telegram channels about the alleged 5-day quarantine for all arriving on the island.

We are talking only about foreign travelers who arrive in Havana on regular flights. The international airport of the Cuban capital opened on November 15.

Upon arrival in Havana, foreigners take a PCR test. If the result is negative, they go to the place of residence (hotel, apartments, rental housing) for a 5-day self-isolation.

A similar format is adopted in Russia: all arriving from abroad pass a PCR test, and in anticipation of its result, they spend 3 days in quarantine.

In Havana, tourists come under the supervision of local district doctors. If after 5 days the foreigner has no signs of coronavirus, and the doctor documents it, the tourist interrupts the quarantine.

The Cuban Embassy in Moscow confirmed plans to introduce a biosecurity tax of $30.
Now the Cuban aviation authorities are trying to negotiate with foreign airlines to include it in the ticket price.

The Embassy of Cuba in Moscow reported that now the Russians arriving on flights of airlines AZURAir and Nordwind to Cayo Coco, nothing extra.
